Our mission is to share our extensive catering experience to help those who are, or those who wish to become, chefs!

David Nicholas Bio

I started my career as a waiter and barman before transitioning into the kitchen to become a Kitchen Porter. From there I became a line cook in a very busy chain pub kitchen. This is where I became hooked on the idea of a career as a chef!

I secured a trainee position at a large 4 star hotel with a 2 AA Rosette food rating, where I gained my qualification to become a fully qualified chef. Working my way up the ranks I eventually left to take a Sous Chef (Second Chef) position at a smaller 2 Rosette restaurant.

During my 10 year career I was also fortunate enough to complete some work experience in Michael Caine’s, 2 Michelin Star restaurant, Gidleigh Park.

I eventually left the chef trade to retrain (hence why I have time to run this site!) but my passion for enjoying great food remains!
